Mitch Lifson
Vice-President for Public Policy
Mitch Lifson serves as CAFC’s Vice-President for Public Policy and has more than 30 years of work experience in advocacy, state government, and local government. Mitch’s professional experience includes working as a policy and legislative adviser for the Illinois Department of Revenue and serving as Deputy Director of the Policy and Budget Staff for the Illinois Senate Democratic Caucus. During his time with the Senate, his responsibilities included staffing the Senate Revenue Committee as well as a task force on property tax reform. In addition to his government work experience, Mitch has worked as a radio news reporter for stations throughout the Midwest and Florida. He has a bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University, a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University and a master’s degree in government administration from the University of Pennsylvania.
